Applications for the measures Internships ATIVAR.PT and Incentive ATIVAR.PT are again open from this Monday, February 15, with an initial global allocation of 100 million euros: EUR 75 million for the Internships ATIVAR.PT and EUR 25 million for the Incentive ATIVAR.PT. It is recalled that the first application period for the new measures took place between October and December 2020, with an initial allocation of EUR 100 million that would be reinforced by a further EUR 40 million to meet demand: IEFP received almost 22,400 applications which foresee the placement of more than 19,200 trainees and the creation of more than 7,700 jobs out of a total of more than 26,900 people potentially covered. Approximately 70% of the applications for the two measures have already been approved, corresponding to support worth approximately EUR 116 million. In addition to these figures, the IEFP also received 1,900 requests for support for the conversion of traineeship contracts into open-ended employment contracts, covering 2,200 people. The ATIVAR.PT Traineeships have replaced the Occupational Traineeships, introducing an increase in traineeship grants ranging (for qualifications above secondary education) between 7.1% and 30.6%, and including a set of transitional provisions aimed at responding to the situation that the labour market is currently facing, including an increase in the IEFP contribution to the traineeship grant from 65% to 75% in the general scheme. It is also planned to increase the employment premium for those who convert traineeship contracts into open-ended contracts, from a maximum of EUR 2,194 to EUR 3,072 under the general scheme. The Incentive ACTIVAR.PT replaced the Contract-Employment and introduced an increase of 33% in the support to be granted to companies that conclude employment contracts with unemployed registered in the IEFP, moving the basic support from 3,949 euros to 5,266 euros in open-ended contracts. The possibility of a mark-up is also provided for when hiring long-term unemployed, discouraged inactive people, young people up to 29 and people aged 45 and over, which also covers informal carers or homeless people. Both measures have faster and more agile payment models, which allows financial support to reach the promoters more quickly. This application period runs from 15 February to 30 June 2021 and full information on the measures is available at https://www.iefp.pt/ativar.pt. These measures are part of the ATIVAR.PT – Enhanced Programme of Support for Employment and Vocational Training, registered by the Government in the Economic and Social Stabilisation Programme with the aim of ensuring the maintenance of employment and the gradual recovery of economic activity.
