Signature of a protocol between CASES and DGSS
Development of the Database of Social Economy Entities
The António Sérgio Cooperative for the Social Economy (CASES) and the Directorate-General for Social Security (DGSS) signed on 30 September a cooperation protocol that establishes the terms and conditions for the provision of information necessary for the implementation and maintenance of the Database of Social Economy Entities (BDEES) and the production of statistics, studies and analyses carried out on the basis of the data made available to each other.
BDEES is a tool for systematizing and integrating information from the Social Economy sector, which is currently dispersed, in a single platform for access to the public. It thus aims to contribute, in a relevant way, to the structuring of the development of the entities of the sector, their effective (re)recognition by public and private entities that integrate, or intervene, in various forms, in their activities, also constituting, along with the Satellite Account of the Social Economy, as a valuable instrument to support the definition of public policies for the sector.
In order to establish the BDEES, and in compliance with the provisions of the Basic Law on the Social Economy, CASES has been establishing data interconnection protocols with public entities with competences in the registration and recognition of social economy entities, and the protocol now signed with the DGSS is an important step towards the implementation of this project.
