The Social and Solidarity Sector will receive 1407 electric vehicles under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), worth 35 million euros. The Social Security Institute approved 1280 applications from IPSS and equivalent entities with cooperation agreements for the development of the Home Support Service (SAD) response. With support of up to €25,000 per vehicle, this measure aims to support the purchase of 100% electric vehicles and support social and solidarity sector institutions in the climate and environmental transition, through the progressive acquisition of a greener car fleet. The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, highlighted the importance of this measure: "We are putting on the ground the priority given by the RRP to social investment, strengthening the mechanisms of Home Support, increasing the responses of proximity and support for the autonomy of people, combating isolation and betting on electric vehicles that also allow to reduce costs for institutions", added Ana Mendes Godinho. The RRP dedicates EUR 417 million to the New Generation of Equipment and Social Responses.
