Applications open for Housing First and Shared Apartments

Call for Proposals for Protocols to Create Innovative Housing First and Shared Apartments Solutions

Applications open for Housing First and Shared Apartments

O Social Security Institute opened a new protocol notice for the creation of innovative Housing First and Shared Apartments solutions across the country to promote access to housing for homeless people.

The deadline for submission of applications through the Direct Social Security, runs until August 4, 2023.

These protocols will be concluded for the financing of technical support teams and follow-up to users in housing response. In the Housing First model, the occupation should consider a user for permanent housing, being allowed the occupation by a couple or, exceptionally, by a maximum of 2 people in cohabitation, upon reasoned assessment of the situation. In the Shared Apartment model, the capacity can be at least for two people and not exceed a maximum of 5 people.

In the Shared Apartment response, it is particularly important to project responses that target specific segments of the homeless population, such as LGBTIQ+ people and the migrant population, whether they are applicants for or beneficiaries of international protection or economic migrants.

These protocols will preferably be concluded with entities that are part of the already established Planning and Homeless Intervention Centers (NPISA), and for this purpose must present the Management Model (referral circuit and process management) defined jointly by the partners that accompany homeless people within this Center. The remaining applications will also be examined, and an articulation of the application with the Social Network must be ensured, as well as the adoption of the intervention model recommended by ENIPSSA.

It is intended to finance an intervention that gives priority to the reception in housing context of people in a situation of homelessness, and that in a personalized approach, promotes their autonomy and social inclusion through training actions appropriate to their potential.
